The Firm provides legal assistance in connection with jurisdiction, applicable law and conflict law issues, as well as with the compliance of private practice with the international commercial law (in particular, WTO regulation) and in connection with public-private partnership in cross border transactions. Among others, the Firm advises foreign governments and governmental institutions in matters concerning diplomatic immunity, employment law and contracts. In addition to being President of the Governing Council of UNIDROIT and frequent representative of the Republic of Italy at UNICITRAL’s Working Groups and Plenary Sessions, Professor Alberto Mazzoni is a participant in the Task Force organized by the World Bank and by the IMF for the purpose of discussing and studying the problems arising on an international level from the insolvency of financial and non-banking companies. Professor Maria Chiara Malaguti is since 2003 advisor to the Service for the Litigation and the Treaties of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in relation to commercial issues, either in the context of international trade or EU law, either regarding relations between countries or concerning relations between countries and individuals.
By coordinating the participation of Italy to the multilateral negotiations for the unification of law, she takes part directly or coordinates the work’s sessions at UNCITRAL, UNIDROIT and Aja Conference (such latter specialized in the unification of international private law), thus following the most recent international developments on this matter.
